Glücklich. Das war der erste Gedanke, der mir kam, als ich Anam in ihrem magentapinken Kopftuch sah. Diese Farbe macht mich glücklich. <3

Dua für neue Kleider || Dua for new clothes

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri berichtete, dass wenn der Prophet ein neues Kleidungsstück erhielt, er es benannte, ob es nun ein Turban, ein Hemd oder Umhang war, und dann sagte: "Oh Allah, alles Lob und aller Dank gebührt Dir. Du hast mir dieses Kleidungsstück gegeben. Ich bitte Dich um das Gute darin und um das Gute, aus dem es gemacht ist und ich suche Zuflucht bei Dir vor dem Bösen darin und dem Bösen, aus dem es gemacht ist. {Allahumma, laka al-hamd, anta kasawtanih, as’aluka khayrahu wa khayra ma suni`a lahu, wa a`udhu bika min sharrihi wa sharri ma ma suni`a lah.} [Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi].

Abu Sa`id al-Khudri reported that when the Prophet got a new piece of garment, he would mention it, whether a turban or a shirt or a cloak, and then would say: “O Allah, all praise and thanks be to You. You have given me this garment. I seek from You its good and the good that is made of it and I seek Your refuge against its evil and the evil that it is made of.” {Allahumma, laka al-hamd, anta kasawtanih, as’aluka khayrahu wa khayra ma suni`a lahu, wa a`udhu bika min sharrihi wa sharri ma ma suni`a lah.} [Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi].

Freitagsfundstück: Langärmelige Tuniken || Friday find: long-sleeve tunics

In der Zeit von Oktober bis März oder April sieht man mich kaum etwas anderes als ein knielanges Kleider oder Tunika über 'ner Jeans oder einem anderen Paar Hosen tragen. Ich habe einfach nicht den Nerv, ständig darauf zu achten, dass mein (noch) trocken und sauberer Kleidsaum nicht über nass und dreckige Straßen schleift. Ich mag eigentlich alle meine kurzen Kleider, aber bin immer ganz besonders begeistert, wenn ich mal eine langärmelige Tunika entdecke. In ein Paar Jeans geschlüpft, die Tunika übergestreift, ein Hijab ausgesucht, und fertig ist das Outfit! Bei H&M gibt es zurzeit eine ganze langärmeliger Tuniken und Kleider. Ich habe sie selbst noch nicht gesehen, aber sie scheinen bis zum Knie zu reichen. Auf der Webseite finden sic noch mehr - das hier sind meine Favoriten:

H&M are selling quite a few long-sleeve tunics and dresses at the moment. I have not seen them myself, but they all seem to be knee-length. Gold und schwarz, Perlenohrringe und Karo || Gold and black, pearl earrings and gingham

 

Mir gefällt so vieles an diesem Outfit. Wie sich die Farben - schwarz, beige und gold - ergänzen. Die Art und Weise, auf die sie den formellen Blazer, die Perlohrringe und goldenen Accessoires mit einem simplen schwarweiß-karierten Baumwollhemd kombiniert hat. Wie sie das Kopftuch gewickelt hat (ich könnte es selbst so nie tragen - ich würde ständig nur an den Enden herumziehen, in ständiger Angst, ob noch alles so sitzt wie es soll - aber an ihr sieht es umwerfend aus - mashaallah!).

There is so much I like about this outfit. How the colours - black, beige and gold - complement each other. The way she combined the formal blazer, pearl earrings and golden accessories with a simple black and white checked cotton shirt. The head wrap (I could never wear it myself as I would just constantly be pulling on the ends to make sure everthing is still in place, but boy does it look good on her - mashaallah!).

 

 

Und das hat jetzt wirklich gar nichts mit dem Thema zu tun, aber ich habe viel Tracy Chapman gehört in den letzten Wochen. || And this is completely unrelated, but I have been listening to Tracy Chapman a lot these last few weeks.

Das Wesentliche nicht aus den Augen verlieren || Putting things into perspective

This ayah is such an apt reminder, especially to all those of us reading, writing or thinking about hijab fashion... Enjoy what you like, but don't ever fall into the trap of taking something as peripheric as fashion or your looks more serious than it actually is.

"Know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children - like the example of a rain whose [resulting] plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and you see it turned yellow; then it becomes [scattered] debris. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allah and approval. And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion."

Qur'an 57: 20

Diese Ayah is ein so treffender Reminder, vor allem für all jene von uns, die über Hijab-Mode lesen, schreiben oder denken... Genieße, was immer dir gefällt, aber mache niemals den Fehler, etwas so Peripheres wie Mode oder dein Aussehen wichtiger zu nehmen als es ist.

"Wißt, daß das diesseitige Leben nur Spiel und Zerstreuung ist, Schmuck und gegenseitige Prahlerei und Wettstreit nach noch mehr Besitz und Kindern. Es ist wie das Gleichnis von Regen, dessen Pflanzenwuchs den Ungläubigen gefällt. Hierauf aber trocknet er aus, und da siehst du ihn gelb werden. Hierauf wird es zu zermalmtem Zeug. Im Jenseits aber gibt es strenge Strafe und (auch) Vergebung von Allah und Wohlgefallen. Und das diesseitige Leben ist nur trügerischer Genuß."

Mini Eid Outfit

 

Eid mubarak! Ich hoffe, ihr habt Eid gut verbracht. Ich habe leider keine Bilder davon, was ich an Eid getragen habe. Morgens, als wir in der Moschee waren, habe ich keine gemacht, weil ich das selbe Outfit wie hier getragen habe (und für was Bilder machen, wenn ein simpler Link genügt?). Abends habe ich ein anderes Kleid getragen, aber ich war so beschäftigt, alles vorzubereiten, dass ich nicht dazu gekommen bin, Photos zu machen. Na ja, dafür kriegt ihr ein paar Fotos von Freunden und Familienangehörigen. Nummer eins: Mini-Eid-Outfit, Belutschi Style.

Eid mubarak! I hope you had a nice Eid. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of what I wore on Eid. In the morning when we went to the mosque I didn't take any because I wore the same outfit as here (so why take pictures if a link will do?). I wore another dress in the evening, but I was to busy preparing things to take pictures. Anyhow, you'll get some pictures of family and friends instead. Number one: mini Eid outfit, Balochi style.

Traditionell gehört zu dem Oberteil noch eine weite Shalwar-artige Hose, die das Kind auf dem Foto aber nicht trägt. || Traditionally this top is worn with loose shalwar-like trousers (which the child in the picture was not wearing though).
