Sommer im Park || Summer in the park

Als ich mir im Juni den braunen Maxirock von Shukr geholt habe, hab ich auch den blauen Batikrock hier bestellt. Es ist der selbe Schnitt wie der braune Rock, und ich find die Farbe und das Muster toll.

When I got the brown maxi skirt from Shukr in June, I also ordered this dark blue tie dye one. It's the same cut as the brown skirt, and I love the colour and pattern.

Ich hab ihn zum ersten Mal letzten Monat in den Park getragen, mit einem blauen langärmligen Hemd und einem blaugrünen Tuch (das auch von Shukr ist).

I wore it for the first time to the park last month, with a blue long-sleeve shirt and a teal scarf (that's also from Shukr):

Der Rock || The skirt

In der letzten Woche war das Wetter hier komisch (wie Sommer fühlt es sich auf jeden Fall kaum an!), aber vor einer Woche hatten wir ein paar richtig schöne Tage. Im Sommer trage ich meistens Maxiröcke und Kleider...

The weather has been weird here in the last week or so (you wouldn't believe it's summer!), but a week ago, we had a few really nice days. In the summer, I rarely wear anything else than maxi skirts and dresses outside, so that day...

...und an dem Tag hab ich meinen neuen brauen Maxirock von Shukr zum ersten Mal getragen. Ich hab ihn mit einem alten dunkelblauen Hemd mit Polkadots (das ich an der Taille geknotet habe), und mein rosa Lieblingstuch. Wie gewohnt von Shukr ist die Qualität des Rocks perfekt ... und er fällt total schön ❤

...I wore my new brown maxi skirt from Shukr for the first time. I wore it with an old navy shirt with polka dots (that I tied at the waist), and my favourite pink hijab. As usual with clothes from Shukr, the quality of the skirt is perfect ... and it drapes so nicely ❤

Das hier sind alte Bilder (von letztem Mai), aber sie gefallen mir immer noch ziemlich gut. Jetzt muss es nur noch endlich wieder warm genug sein, Sommerkleider zu tragen.

These are old pictures (from last May), but looking back, I really like this outfit. Can't wait till it's warm enough to wear summer clothes again.

Der Lange-Rock-Skandal || Long-skirt-gate

Wenn ich es nicht wüsste, würde ich nicht glauben, dass das im 21sten Jahrhundert in Europa passiert ist. Eine Schülerin der Schule verweisen, weil sie einen langen Rock trägt? Wie bitte, geht's noch?! Das hat nichts mit Säkularismus oder der Verteidigung demokratischer Werte zu tun. Sondern eine Menge mit Arroganz, anderen seine Normen aufdrücken, diesen Mädchen ihr Recht auf Wahlfreiheit zu nehmen und, ja, Extremismus. Weil was sonst als extrem(istisch) ist ein Schuldirektor, der für diese Mädchen entscheiden will, wie viel Bein sie zu zeigen haben, und ihnen, wenn sie nicht nachziehen, den Zugang zur Schule (hallo, Bildung?!) verwehrt. Es läuft 'ne Menge falsch hier in Großbritannien, aber es sind Momente wie dieser, dass ich froh bin, hier zu leben.

If I didn't know, I wouldn't believe this was happening in Europe in the 21st century. Sending a schoolgirl home for wearing a long skirt? What the heck?! This doesn't have anything to do with secularism or defending the democratic values. But a lot with arrogance, imposing your norms on others, denying these girls their free choice and, yes, radicalism. Or what else is a headteacher who wants to decide for these girls how much leg they have to show and who, when they don't comply, denies them access to the school, to education, if not radical? There is a lot wrong in the UK, but it is moments like these that I am glad to live here.

Blaue Schuhe, roter Rock, weißes Hemd - ich <3 <3 <3 diese Farbkombi. Und endlich wieder lange Röcke und Kleider tragen zu können (Hosen wird's hier in den nächsten ... fünf Monaten nicht viel zu sehen geben) - juhuuuuu! :D

 

Blue shoes, red skirt, white shirt - I <3 <3 <3  that colour combination. And being able to finally wear long skirts and dresses again (don't expect to see many trousers on this blog in the next ... five months) - wooohoooo! :D
