Ich glaube nicht, dass ich jemals Turban tragen könnte, weil ich ständig checken müsste, ob noch alles so sitzt wie ich es will, aber an Alina (die dieses Outfit zur Uni trug) sieht es gut aus.

I don't think I could ever wear a head wrap as I would be constantly checking it's still in place, but it looks good on Alina (who wore this outfit to uni).

Review: Timotei Organic Delight Shampoo

Auf der Suche nach einem guten Bio-Shampoo, bin ich auf dieses Shampoo von Timotei gestoßen. Es ist bio, fast komplett biologisch abbaubar und enthält keine Parabene, Silikone, Sulphate oder Farbstoffe. Es riecht gut und gibt gut Volumen. Was die Bio-Qualität und Umweltfreundlichkeit angeht, bin ich ein bisschen skeptisch, inwiefern das tatsächlich der Fall ist (Greenwashing und so), aber falls man keinen Bio-Supermarkt / Reformhaus in der Nähe hat, dann ist das Shampoo auf jeden Fall eine gute Alternative. 

In my search for a good organic shampoo, I came across this Timotei shampoo. It's organic, almost completely bio-degradable and does not contain any parabens, silicones, sulphates or colourants. It also smells nice and it's quite volumising. I am a bit sceptical as to how organic and environment-friendly it really is (I've heard too much about greenwashing not to be), but if you don't have an organic shop, this is definitely a good alternative.

Pink und Jeans || Pink and jeans

Die letzten paar Tage waren wunderschön. Es ist ziemlich warm, in der Sonne sogar heiß. Richtig schön. Ich könnte wahrscheinlich sogar Kleider oder einen Rock tragen, aber nach sechs Wochen, in denen ich nichts als Kleider und Röcke getragen habe (im Sommer in Beirut), will ich jetzt nichts als meine Jeans. Ich habe sie im ganzen letzten Monat fast jeden Tag getragen.

The last few days have been beautiful. It's quite warm, even hot in the sun. It's beautiful. I suppose I could even wear skirts and dresses, but after six weeks of not wearing anything but dresses and skirts (over the summer in Beirut), I don't want anything else than my jeans. I've worn them almost every day in the last month.

Hallo Welt, es gibt mich noch... Ich weiß, hier war eine ganze Weile Funkstille, aber ich war in den letzten Monaten verdammt busy. Erst war da Ramadan, dann ein Umzug und gleich danach ein sechswöchiger Forschungsaufenthalt im Nahen Osten, und seit ich wieder in England bin, ging irgendwie auch alles drunter und drüber. Aber ich habe massenweise Outfit-Bilder von vor dem Sommer, die ich hier bald zu posten beginnen werde. Inshaallah! Eid mubarak und bis ganz bald!

Hello world, I'm still alive... I know it's been quite some time, but I've been super busy in the last months. First there was Ramadan, then we moved house and, immediately afterwards, I left on a six-week long research trip to the Middle East in the summer, and things have been quite busy since my return to England. Review: Bio-Gesichtsreiniger mit Teebaumöl || Review: Organic face wash with tea tree oil

Ich habe ziemlich normale Haut, benutze kein Makeup und hab's generell nicht so mit aufwendigen Haut- und Körperpflegeritualen, insofern habe ich jahrelang keinen Gesichtsreiniger benutzt. Vor einigen Jahren habe ich wieder angefangen, einen zu verwenden. Nach einer schlechten Erfahrung mit einem Gesichtsreiniger von Nivea benutze ich nur noch Bio-Gesichtsreiniger.

I have pretty normal skin, don't use any makeup and am generally a no-fuss person when it comes to skin and body care, so for years I did not use any facial wash. A few years ago I started using one again. I don't use it every day, but between three and five times a week perhaps. I made a pretty bad experience with a Nivea face wash I got a while ago and have been using organic face washs only since then. 

Der Gesichtsreiniger, den ich bisher verwendet habe, ist vor kurzem ausgegangen, also habe ich mich auf die Suche nach einem neuen gemacht. Ich probiere eigentlich immer gerne mal neue Pflegeprodukte aus, also habe ich mir angesehen, was der Body Shop so im Angebot hatte, war aber ein bisschen enttäuscht. In Sachen Produktauswahl, Preise und Duft (mir ist es wichtig, dass Pflegeprodukte richtig gut riechen - vor allem, wenn ich so viel Geld dafür ausgebe) war, was es dort gab, echt nicht umwerfend. Also habe ich mir wieder den Gesichtsreiniger, den ich vorher hatte, besorgt, Dr. Organic's Tea Tree Face Wash. Das Zeug ist genial! Es hat Bio-Qualität, enthält keine Zutaten, bei denen man sich nicht sicher ist, was zum Teufel sie auf der eigenen Haut verloren haben, und 200ml kosten 6.50 GBP (beim Body Shop hätte ich doppelt so viel bezahlt). Der Geruch von Teebaumöl ist nicht jedermanns Sache, aber dieser Gesichtsreiniger enthält auch Zitronen- und Mandarinenöl, riecht also wirklich nicht schlecht. Bin absolut begeistert von dem Zeug!

The face wash I had used until recently has just run out, so I looked for a new one. I am always open to try out new body care products, so had a look at what The Body Shop had on offer. I must say I was a bit disappointed though with the limited range, the not-very-exciting scents of the cleansers they did have (I want my skin and body care products to smell nice, especially if I spent that much money) and the comparatively high prices. So I went back to the product I used before, Dr. Organic's Tea Tree Face Wash. This stuff is amazing! It is organic, doesn't contain any nonsense and 200ml are only 6.50 GBP (I would have paid twice as much at The Body Shop). Tea tree oil has a bit of a peculiar smell, but the cleanser also contains lemon and mandarin oil, so it smells quite nice. I love this wash!
