Vor ein paar Tagen habe ich mit einer Freundin darüber gesprochen, was sie auf der Arbeit tragen könnte (dieser Post ist für dich, N!). Was als im beruflichen Kontext angebrachte Kleidung gilt, hängt natürlich davon ab, in welcher Branche man arbeitet, welchen Status man in der Firma, für die man tätig ist, hat, ob man mit Kunden arbeitet oder einfach nur im Büro sitzt ... aber auch, was die eigenen Hijab-Regeln sind (ist es für dich in Ordnung einfach einen ganz normalen Anzug zu tragen? oder fühlst du dich nur in Abayah wohl? geht vielleicht auch eine knielange Tunika oder ein Anzugkleid?). Das sind einige der Gründe weshalb es so schwierig ist, jemanden zu seinem Businessoutfit zu raten, wenn man nichts (oder nicht viel) über die jeweiligen Hintergründe weiß.
Some days ago, I discussed with a friend who wears hijab what she could wear in a professional context (this post is for you, N!). What is considered appropriate attire at work does, of course, depend on the sector you work in, on your status in the company you work for, whether you work with clients or just sit in the office ... but also on what your personal hijab rules are (are you fine wearing just a regular suit? would it have to be an abayah for you? Or are a knee-length tunic or suit dress over trousers fine?). That's some of the reasons it is difficult to advise someone what to wear at work without knowing their particular circumstances.
Wenn du bisher keinen Hijab auf der Arbeit getragen hast, kann der Gedanke daran erst einmal ziemlich einschüchternd sein ... was nicht heißt, dass es nicht möglich ist!
