Review: Body-Shop-Bio-Fairtrade-Shampoo || Review: The Body Shop Organic Fairtrade Shampoo

Ich habe vor einer Weile damit begonnen, mir Gedanken darüber zu machen, warum so viele von uns, mich eingeschlossen, dazu tendieren, viel mehr Wert darauf zu legen, was wir essen (ist es Bio-Qualität? gesund? umweltfreundlich?) als darauf, was wir uns auf die Haut schmieren und zum Beispiel zum Haarewaschen verwenden. Ich bin wirklich kein Experte auf dem Gebiet, aber es scheint so, dass viele konventionell hergestellte Schönheits- und Pflegeprodukte eine Menge Chemikalien beinhalten, die weder für uns noch die Umwelt gut sind und vielleicht sogar an Tieren getestet wurden. Ich beschloss also, wenn immer möglich, zu probieren, Bio- und / oder Fairtrade-Produkte zu kaufen. Und beginnen tat ich mit dem Shampoo.

I have recently started to wonder how come so many of us, myself included, tend to place much more importance on what we eat (is it organic? good for you? healthy? environment-friendly?) than on what apply to our skin, wash our hair with and so on. I am far from being an expert on the topic but it seems that many of conventionally produced beauty and care products contain loads of chemicals that are neither good for you nor the environment and may have been tested on animals. So I decided to try and buy organic and / or fairtrade products whenever possible. I started with shampoo. 

Ich hatte vor Kurzem eine Kundenkarte vom Body Shop bekommen und mit der Karte und einem weiteren Rabatt bezahlte ich für das Shampoo nur 4 GBP. (Die Flasche rechts im Bild ist eine Bodylotion, die ich auch gekauft habe.) In der Zwischenzeit habe ich das Shampoo ausprobiert - und begeistert bin ich nicht. Ich musste meine Haare viel öfter waschen als wenn ich zum Beispiel Pantene Pro V oder Herbal Essences (was bisher meine persönlichen Favoriten waren) benutze. Ich kann es nicht haben, mehr Zeit als notwendig darauf verwenden zu müssen, hervorzeigbar auszusehen, deshalb werde ich das Shampoo aufbrauchen aber dann nicht mehr kaufen. Aufgegeben habe ich jedoch noch nicht; nächstes Mal probiere ich einfach eine andere Marke aus.

I had recently got a loyalty card from The Body Shop and with the card and an additional discount I only paid 4 GBP for the shampoo. (The bottle on the right is a body lotion I also got.) In the mean time, I have tried and tested the shampoo and I am not impressed. I have had to wash my hair much more often than when using Pantene Pro V or Herbal Essences (my personal favourites so far), for example. I don't like to spend more time than necessary on looking presentable, so I will use it up but not buy it again. I have not given up though; next time, I'll try another brand.
