Ganz viele... || Loads of...

 ...schöne Muslimas! || ...beautiful Muslimahs!

Diese Woche war ich bei einer Veranstaltung der Islamischen Hochschulgemeinde irgend einer Londoner Uni. Es trafen sich muslimische Studentinnen und Alumnas, und weil ich ganz viele davon kannte (und sie also wussten, dass ich mit ihren Fotos keinen Totalunfug treiben würde), bekam ich eine Menge Fotos zusammen. Bereit für London Muslim Style, Herbst / Winter 2012? Bitte schön!

This week, I attended an event by the Islamic Society of does not matter which university in London. It was a meeting of Muslim female students and alumnas, and since I knew quite a lot of them (and thus they knew I would not do something completely crazy with their photos...), I managed to take a good bunch of pictures. Ready for London Muslim Style, A/W 2012? Here you go!

Perfekte Herbstfarben - und ich liebe die Lederschuhe und -tasche! 

(Und wenn ich so drüber nachdenke, die Jacke ist auch ziemlich cool.) ||

Perfect autumn colours - and I love the leather shoes and bag!  

(And, thinking about it, the jacket is pretty cool, too.)

Schwarz und bunt - da kann man kaum was falsch machen mit. 

Hätte bestimmt auch mit nem blauen 

oder lilanen Kopftuch super ausgesehen. ||

Black with colours - you can hardly go wrong with this one. 

Would have looked nice, too, with a blue or purple head scarf, I think.

Eine ganz klassische Kombi: schwarzer Faltenrock, elfenbeinfarbenes Spitzenoberteil, schwarzer gut geschnittener Blazer und ein schönes schwarz-weißes Kopftuch. Ich hätte wahrscheinlich ein farbiges Tuch gewählt - aber ich glaube, es war gerade, die Tatsache, dass alles in Schwarz-Weiß gehalten war, dass dem Outfit das gewisse Etwas gab. ||

A classic combi: black pleated skirt, off-white lace top, black fitted blazer and a beautiful black and white head scarf. Personally, I would probably have chosen a colourful scarf - but I think it was exactly this, the fact that the whole outfit was kept in shades of black and white, that made it look so good.

Faltenrock und Spitzenoberteil - ungewöhnliche (aber geniale!) Kombi: ||

Pleated skirt and lace top - unusual (but awesome-looking) combination:

Und einen schönen Wintermantel trug die junge Frau auch (aargh, aber in Weiß, vollkommen hors de question für die Kleinkindmama!!) ||

And she was wearing a nice winter coat, too 

(but in white, aargh, so out of question for any toddler's mummy!!)

Lilatöne - und eine maßgefertigte europäische Abaya (muss noch mal nachfragen, wo und für wieviel sie sie hat schneidern lassen, der Schnitt war super) ||  

Shades of purple - and a tailor-made European abayah (will have to ask her where and for how much she got it done, the cut was great)

Grau- und Beigetöne (schade, dass man das Strickkleid unter dem Mantel nicht sieht - toll sah es aus!) || Shades of grey and beige (too bad you can't really see the knitted dress - loved it!)

Powerfarbe Bordeaux - und ein wunderschöner Seidenschal (so ein tolles Muster!). Und das Outfit ist ganz einfach zu hijabifizieren: langer Rock statt kurzem Rock, Schal auf den Kopf - fertig! || 

Power colour burgundy - and a beautiful silk scarf (love the detail!). And the outfit is super easily hijabify-able: long skirt instead of short skirt, scarf around the head - done!

Und zu guter Letzt, ein gar nicht so herbstlich, sondern noch ziemlich sommerlich wirkendes blaues Outfit. Mir gefällt, dass der Rock nicht im gleichen Farbton wie das Kopftuch ist - das kann sonst schnell übertrieben gewollt aussehen. Kobaltblau ist so gar nicht meine Farbe - aber Mensch, sah es toll an ihr aus! ||

And last, but not least, an almost not autumny but rather summerly looking blue outfit. I like how the skirt is not in the same shade of blue as the head scarf - that could have looked too matchy-matchy. Cobalt blue is not my colour at all - but boy did it look good on her!
