"Aren't you terribly hot under this scarf?" is one of the questions probably every hijabi (especially those living in non-Muslim majority countries) has been asked before (along with "are you Muslim?" - erm, no, I just wear this for fun, "but you do take it off in front of your husband?" - God, no, my husband has never seen my hair, what do YOU think?!...).

Well, quoi qu'il en soit, the answer to this question is actually a quite easy one. There is summer scarves and winter scarves. Breezy scarves made from linen, silk or cotton and thicker scarves made from cotton or wool. The warmest scarf I own is a woolen scarf from Monsoon which I got for 1 or 2 GBP in a charity shop. It is so thick you cannot wear it unless it is really, really cold. Like in London in mid-March... duh!

|| Since it's really thick wool, it's a bit scratchy, but I guess staying warm is worth it...

|| One of the reasons I picked this scarf is the colour - a dark red with pink, orange and dark green threads woven into the fabric.

I wore it with my golden Accessorize necklace...

...meinem grauen Strickkleid (ja, dem aus diesem Post) und meiner blauen Jeans: || ...my grey knitted dress (yes, the one from this post) and blue jeans:

Oh, and I have figured out there actually is a self-timer on my camera ... which is nice because it means I am not as dependent on others being in the mood to take my picture as I used to be... That being said, I am still figuring out how to use the self-timer ... so please bear with me.

Womit nur eine Frage zu klären bliebe...
FRÜHLING, WO STECKST DU?! ||
Which leaves us with just one question...
SPRING, WHERE ARE YOU?!

  1. I like your outfit and how you matched the grey with red.. as for the questions, yes! I usually joke with them saying, I am bald, no hair, so I cover it :) Sometimes they believe me so I have to clarify that I was joking lol

  2. I once had a discussion with friends about hijab, for whom it was required etc. and explained to them the rules about puberty, who to cover in front of etc... When they asked me from what age my daughter (who was still a baby at that time) would have to wear hijab, I told them she would, of course, have to wear full black burqa from the age of four. It was only when I saw the shock in their faces that I realised they didn't get I was joking... :D

    Oh and yes, red and grey (and white), one of my favourite colour combinations :)
